Message from Charles Nam

Charles Nam

I am voicing my thanks to you for your ongoing support of the Population Association of America (PAA) and to ask you for your continued contribution to the PAA Fund through your annual giving.

I joined PAA in 1952 soon after becoming a junior professional at the Census Bureau. I attended my first meeting that year as well and, despite a small gathering of recognized demographers, I was welcomed with open arms. That has always been a hallmark of PAA – you are made to feel a part of the organization. I devoted myself to demography and PAA helped to facilitate my career development. Regardless of where you are in your career, the Association can be of help – whether it’s the contacts you make at meetings, the opportunity to present papers or posters, or the knowledge you gain from Demography and PAA’s other publications and programs. I am proud to contribute to the PAA Fund and I encourage you to do the same. As the end of the year approaches, please join me in supporting the organization that has given us so much. It will help to ensure that the PAA remains as strong and vital for future generations as it has been for us. Sincerely, Charlie
