Associate Professional Specialist (Statistician/Quantitative Analyst)
The Eviction Lab at Princeton University has an immediate opening for a statistician/quantitative analyst, appointed at the rank of Associate or more senior Professional Specialist. Initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal based on funding and satisfactory job performance. The successful candidate will, along with others in the lab, analyze a novel dataset having to do with residential insecurity in America and will work with faculty, researchers, research specialists, and students in the development of statistical modeling, programming code, and academic papers. Essential Qualifications Requires: The position requires a PhD in a quantitative field, including statistics, economics, computer science, political science, or sociology. The successful candidate must specialize in statistical methodology and have significant training and experience in quantitative analysis of social-scientific data. Knowledge of Stata and/or R is required. Familiarity with big data analysis, computational statistics, data mining, and/or econometrics is highly desirable. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential as is the ability to work in a research team on several projects simultaneously. Experience publishing academic studies is highly desirable. The successful candidate is willing and able to learn new programming languages, modeling techniques, and quantitative approaches and stay current on the latest advances in statistics and quantitative social science. The candidate will be responsible for leading workshops and training sessions on statistics methods and programming to members of the Eviction Lab.
