Mindel C. Sheps Award

2012 CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

Nominations are invited for the 2012 Mindel C. Sheps Award for outstanding contributions to mathematical demography, demographic methodology, and the modeling and analysis of population data.

This biennial award is jointly sponsored by the PAA and the UNC School of Public Health. Individuals should be nominated on the basis of important contributions to knowledge either in the form of a single piece of work or a continuing record of high accomplishment. The Award consists of a cash prize and a certificate, to be presented at the PAA Annual Meeting in San Francisco, CA, May 4, 2012.

Nominations should be submitted via email by December 31, 2011, to Maxine Weinstein, Chair, Sheps Award Committee, (Georgetown University); weinstma@georgetown.edu. Other committee members are Joshua Goldstein (Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research);  Lingxin Hao (Johns Hopkins University); Kenneth Hill (Harvard University); Ted Mouw (University of North Carolina); T. Paul Schultz (Yale University) and James Vaupel (Max Planck Institute for Demographic Research).
