New in 2026!
PAA is excited to introduce a new virtual workshop series to be held in early fall 2026. We invite submissions from individuals or groups to conduct three-hour workshops to help support the year-round education of PAA members and the larger demography field. Workshop topics could include (but not limited to): statistical methods, data set usage, data visualization, research communication, and professional development. Workshop proposals that include a variety of instructional approaches and materials are strongly encouraged.
Submit a Proposal
PAA will handle all the logistical arrangements, including Zoom platform and event management, practice session for speakers/instructors, and online registration for attendees. The organizer of each workshop will receive up to two complimentary registrations to the 2027 PAA Annual Meeting. Each workshop is required to reach a minimum of eight registrations in order to be presented.
Workshops will take place from 1:00 - 4:00 pm ET on a Tuesday or Thursday between October 1 and October 15, 2026.
The proposal submission form includes the following fields:
- Primary Contact Person
- Workshop Title
- Short workshop description for registration website
- Preferred workshop day(s) to be held
- Description of workshop objectives, goals, and expected outcomes.
- Workshop Agenda
- Statement on how the workshop can benefit PAA attendees.
- Description of target audience
- List of Presenters (including full name, title, affiliation, and link to CV or online profile)
Deadlines & Requirements
- Workshop proposals are due August 4, 2026.
- Accepted workshops will be notified during the week of August 17.
