About Workshops
The PAA Program Committee invites submissions from individuals or groups to conduct workshops in conjunction with the PAA 2027 Annual Meeting. Workshops topics could include (but not limited to): statistical methods, data set usage, data visualization, research communication, and professional development. Workshop proposals that include a variety of instructional approaches and materials are strongly encouraged.
Workshop Type
We have a new approach to workshops to expand the opportunity to those who may have funding to host a workshop and would prefer to charge a lower price. Each workshop is required to reach a minimum of 10 registrations in order to be presented.
Funded Workshop: A funded workshop has external funding to cover the cost of the workshop, including audio-visual (AV), meeting room rental, wi-fi, workshop presenter travel, etc. The organizer will work directly with the hotel on room set up, food and beverage, and shipping, as well as with the assigned AV provider for AV needs. PAA will include the workshop as part of the PAA 2027 registration process. Registrants will be charged $10/$20 (member/nonmember) for student registrants and $25/$50 (member/nonmember) for all other registrants. There is a $500 administrative fee due upon workshop acceptance. A confirmation email in November will include a link to the registration system where you can select the administrative fee item and complete payment. Payment is due by January 16, 2027.
PAA Supported Workshop: PAA covers all costs (room rental fee, laptop and projector), handles the logistical arrangements, and provides one night of hotel for the organizer and up to two complimentary registrations for workshop presenters. Registrants will be charged as follows:
1/2 Day Workshop
-
- Students: $100/$150 (member/nonmember)
- All Others: $150/$200 (member/nonmember)
Full Day Workshop
-
- Students $200/$350 (member/nonmember)
- All Others: $300/$450 (member/nonmember)
The registration fee covers the room rental fee, laptop and projector cost only. Each workshop is required to reach a minimum of 10 registrations in order to be presented.
