We are excited to announce a new Applied Demography Conference hosted by PAA, in conjunction with the Committee on Applied Demography. As a member of the PAA Applied Demography Group, we want you to be the first to know the details and offer opportunities for your involvement.
During these challenging times, the work of applied demographers is more important than ever! PAA agrees and is providing this tremendous opportunity to more effectively engage our applied demography community.
We are planning on the first Applied Demography Conference to take place virtually February 2-4, 2021. The conference will cover a wide range of topics, such as: Estimates, Projections, Redistricting, Apportionment, Fertility, Mortality, Immigration, Aging, Healthcare and Public Health, School Demography, Transportation, Geovisualization, International Demography, Data Sources and Collection Methods, Differential Privacy, Preparing for 2020 Census Data, Applied Demography in Response to COVID-19, and other relevant topics.
At this time we need volunteers to serve as program committee members.
The duties for the program committee are as follows:
- Review short abstracts submitted in assigned topic(s),
- Grade all papers and select 4 to form a session and choose a session title,
- Select a moderator for the session.
