By PAA Web posted 10-12-2020 11:41

The Florence Nightingale David Award and Lectureship is presented in odd-numbered years to a female statistician to honor David’s contributions to the profession: her active support of women in statistics, her excellence in research in areas like combinatorial probability theory and advanced statistical methods, and her notable work in education as an effective lecturer, through her lucid and engaging books, and as an academic administrator. It is sponsored by the Committee of Presidents of Statistical Societies (COPSS).

The award consists of a plaque and a cash honorarium of $2,000, as well as the opportunity to deliver the Florence Nightingale David lecture at the Joint Statistical Meetings. Nominations should be submitted in PDF format by December 15, 2020, to the Florence Nightingale David Award Committee Chair (Nancy M. Gordon).
