This is my new book in 2024, Published by Ashish Books, New Delhi, India, ISBN: 978-81-19986-20-0.

This multidisciplinary comparative study of sex preference in birth in several regions of the world has created much interest in both social and economic sector. In the last few decades, India has developed both economic and social sector.  With over 1.21 billion people (2011 census), more than a sixth of the world's population, India is projected to be the world's most populous country by 2050, surpassing China, its population reaching 1.6 billion in 2050. Some activists believe India's 2011 Census shows a serious decline in the number of girls under the age of seven-activists fear eight million female fetuses may have been aborted between 2001 and 2011. These climes are controversial. Scientists who study human sex ratios and demographic trends suggests that birth sex ratios between 1.08 to 1.12 can be because of natural factors, such as the age of the mother at baby's birth, age of father at baby's birth.

This work attempts to analyze the existence of sex preference in India and analyze the impact of sex preference on fertility. When parents prefer sons, heterogeneity in the probability of having sons can lead to excess girls.
