Nominees Accepted to Advisory Committee on Data for Evidence Building

On November 6, the Federal Register published a notice of establishment of the Advisory Committee on Data for Evidence Building, as required by the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act § 101(a)(2) (5 U.S.C. § 315(a)). Chaired by the Chief Statistician of the United States, the Committee will review, analyze, and make recommendations on how to promote the use of Federal data for evidence building.

At least 10 of the Committee’s members will be appointed from non-Federal sources, to reflect a range of relevant expertise. The Department of Commerce seeks nominations for these positions. Individuals may self nominate. Nominations dues December 4.

The Federal Register notice indicates individuals with the following expertise are highly desirable:

  • Transparency policy
  • Privacy Policy
  • Statistical data use
  • Information Technology
  • Information Management
  • Research and evaluation
