The National Research Center on Hispanic Children & Families (Center) has partnered with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Institute for Research on Poverty (IRP) and the University of California, Davis’s Center for Poverty & Inequality Research (CPIR) to invite applications for the 2024 National Research Center on Poverty and Economic Mobility Early-Career Mentoring Institute (ECMI). This weeklong convening will provide valuable mentoring and career development opportunities to poverty and social mobility scholars who are in the early stages of their research careers and who have the potential for leadership in supporting members of populations that are underrepresented among academic researchers.

Proposals are open to poverty and social mobility scholars that have completed their doctorate no more than six years prior to the ECMI’s start date, or expect to complete their doctorate in 2024, and do not currently hold a tenured faculty position. A total of 15 scholars will be accepted, with the Center funding up to three scholars whose research focuses specifically on Hispanic populations. We particularly welcome applications from scholars belonging to groups that are underrepresented in academia.

Applications are due December 31, 2023. For more information, click here.
