PAA’s Executive Director, Danielle Staudt, has informed us she will be leaving PAA for a new role in mid-January 2025. She has accepted the Executive Director role at TESOL International Association, the association for professionals engaged in English language teaching.
Danielle joined PAA in 2014 and her visionary leadership has been instrumental in driving the association’s success. She led the implementation of PAA’s first-ever strategic plan, guided us through the COVID-19 pandemic, and orchestrated the addition of new programs and services for a variety of membership segments.

Her innovative approach has paved the way for new revenue streams, amplified the impact of our meetings, and created a culture that has made PAA a place everyone is proud to be a part of.
The PAA Board of Directors is grateful for Danielle’s service and commitment to PAA and the population research community.
The Executive Committee is working closely with Danielle to ensure a smooth transition and that our upcoming activities will be well executed. The committee has also started laying the groundwork to find a new Executive Director and will share more information about the search as plans are finalized.
We want to extend our gratitude to the PAA staff – Betsy Alafoginis, Francesca Morton, Mary Jo Mitchell, John Thomas, and Bobbie Westmoreland --for their willingness to take on additional responsibilities as we conduct a search for a new Executive Director. Their dedication to PAA is unmatched and deeply appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jennifer Glass
