We are delighted to announce that effective July 14, the PAA Executive Director will be Tristanne Staudt. She is currently the Executive Director of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR), where she has demonstrated strong leadership over the past four years. She is very excited to take over the leadership of PAA.
Tristanne emerged as the top candidate through a lengthy vetting process by both the Search Committee and Sterling Martin Associates, a recruitment firm that helped the committee with the search process. Our Search Committee spent the spring reviewing resumes and conducting multiple rounds of interviews, culminating in in-person interviews with three exceptional finalists on Sunday afternoon, April 13, following our Annual Meeting.
Tristanne’s unique strengths and experiences are an excellent match for PAA. She brings prior experience with similar associations (AAPOR and the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management [APPAM]) and her approach to financial stewardship, governance, and long-range planning aligns with the mission of PAA. Previously, Tristanne developed a path to guide an association from structural deficits to sustained surpluses, using tools like multi-year forecasting and public scorecards to foster transparency.
