The Senate and House Appropriations Committees recently completed work on the Commerce, Justice, Science and Related Agencies bill, which funds the Census Bureau and National Science Foundation (NSF). This year, PAA was pleased that there were NO provisions either to tamper with the Merit Review Process at NSF or to allocate funding by specific directorates. PAA joined in signing onto letters to House and Senate appropriators thanking them for affirming both merit review and NSF’s purview in setting research priorities.
