The Population Association of America and Association of Population Centers stand in solidarity with the Asian American community during this difficult time and grieve the senseless loss of life. We urge our members to join us in expressing disdain for the deplorable acts of violence and discrimination targeting individuals of Asian American and Pacific Islander descent.
Our organizations are committed to ending systemic racism and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion of all people regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, gender expression, socioeconomic status, nationality, ability, and sexual orientation. To that end, we recommit ourselves to supporting our Asian American and Pacific Islander friends and colleagues both personally and professionally as we collectively reflect upon recent tragic events and seek to redress the historic and contemporary injustices that they have endured.
