During the week of January 27, 2025, data from federal agency websites and portals began disappearing, including data produced by the U.S. Census Bureau, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and U.S. Agency for International Development. Although some of these data have since been restored, it is not clear what data are still missing and how restored data may have been impacted.
In response to the immediate crisis, the PAA and APC Presidents
issued a statement, expressing alarm about these actions and urging the Administration and Congress to work together to restore the data and prevent future actions that undermine the integrity of the federal statistical system. PAA and APC are also working with their coalition partners to alert policymakers and the public about the implications of these actions.
We now need your help! Please
send a message to your members of Congress urging them to demand the complete restoration of any federal data that have been removed and to work with the Administration to prevent any future unwarranted deletion of data from federal agency websites and portals.
