I am an Assistant Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Sociology at the University of Memphis. As a social demographer and health sociologist, my research examines social determinants of population health in the United States. Much of my research centers on racial/ethnic disparities in adult physical health and mortality risk and the early-life processes that contribute to later-life health disparities.
